T1509 Built to last would be the best description for the T1509, designed for ground to ground and ground to air communications the Transmitter is a high power HF all mode transmitter. These transmitters were installed in transmitter rooms on RAF stations and were operated at a distance from a remote control unit. The associated receiver was the R1475, which is considerably smaller than the transmitter. 1947 - 1970
