As you can see from the picture the construction has been done to last, the cabinet is constructed of plate steel and has then been painted and all exposed metal surfaces have been electro plated.
Collection - RAF - T1509
This is our collections RAF T1509, she is currently under restoration and shall be returned to fully operating condition shortly, there is little work to be carried out on the transmitter, apart from people fiddling and removing a few parts the only significant thing that requires doing is the bright work needs re-chroming.

This is the transmitter as she stands in its temporary
storage location, the complete units weighs approximately 800lbs. If you
have one to move around then from experience I would suggest putting the
time and money in to doing it correctly and using the lifting points
provided. You can move it around by dismantling but this normally means
things getting broken or things not getting put back on after the move
