C Beagle - Wireless Sets - Wireless Set 18
Wireless Set No. 18 was the standard Manpack of the Allied Forces in WW2, the set comprises a rugged pressed steel case housing a separate transmitter, receiver and battery compartment. Located on one side of the case is an adjustable antenna base, the antenna being stored in racks around the case when not in use.
This particular example is in the condition we received it in, the receiver and transmitter are in an above average condition being all complete and un modified, as can be seen in the pictures below.
The case however needs some minor attention, the colour is not correct, some minor smoothing out of the panelling is required and the hinges for the protective doors require repairing. The metal work for the carrying harness is all present and correct, the rubber grommet for the additional battery / charger socket is present. The Bakelite antenna base is in very good condition and is not corroded, the antenna racks are present, simply requiring a clean up.
